The quiz
You answer 15 short questions about your current mood, your time, your platform and your taste. There’s no right or wrong, just answer how you actually feel right now. Your answers stay local in your browser, nothing is stored on a server.
Your three recommendations
At the end you don’t get one recommendation but three clearly labelled ones, each with a reason why it fits:
- 🎯 Perfect match — the game that matches your answers most closely, famous or not.
- ⭐ The obvious pick — a well-known title that fits. The safe choice.
- 💎 Hidden gem — a lesser-known game that still fits you well. Worth discovering.

Already know a recommendation, or finished it long ago? Click “Already played” and the next-best game in that same category slots in. As often as you like.

Below the three main picks you’ll find a list of further matches. Click a row and it expands to show genre, playtime, platforms and a link to where you can get the game.
Honestly funded
The site is free, and I want to keep it that way. That’s why it runs ads and affiliate links (to Instant Gaming). I explain exactly what that means, openly, on the Why ads? page.
The game profiles
Titles with a critic rating of 90 or above get their own page here. Those contain more than a short description:
- What it costs you in time. Playtime is converted into evenings. Forty hours is abstract, “seven weeks at three evenings a week” is not.
- Who it is not for. Every profile has a column telling you when to leave it alone. That is often more useful than the praise.
- Where the rating actually sits. Instead of just “94 out of 100” you see what share of the database a title beats with it.
- What is genuinely similar. Suggestions are computed from the attributes, and each one lists which properties the two games share.
You reach every profile through the game index or through the best-of lists.
The index
All games holds the complete database in alphabetical order. There is a search box at the top: type a few letters and the list filters instantly. Each entry shows year, genre and rating. A green “Profile” marker means there is a detailed page for it.
The best-of lists
If you already know roughly what you are after, the best-of lists are quicker than the quiz. Fifteen lists by genre and platform, each with the thirty highest rated titles.
Every list opens with a few numbers: how many games of that kind there are, how long they run on average, how many support co-op. Below that I state openly how the order comes about. And so you do not read the same text three times, the full description of a game appears in one list only, with a pointer to it everywhere else.
